Termination Clause

The rules for how and when the contract can end.

A termination clause sets out who can end the agreement, on what grounds, and with what notice. “For cause” requires a reason (like breach); “for convenience” lets a party walk away for any reason. Check whether both sides have equal rights and what you owe if it ends early.

In practice

“Either party may terminate for convenience on 30 days’ notice” vs. a one-sided clause letting only the vendor exit.

Don’t just look it up — see it in your document.
